Mötley Crüe Hits Notes Of Nostalgia In Final Farewell Tour At Xcel Center

After a long dissertation on the history of his band felt like "This Is Your Life: Mötley Crüe Edition" - even counting what he and drummer Tommy Lee were drinking the night they met in 1981 - bassist Nikki Sixx finally spoke to the matter Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center.

"Our music is going to haunt you for the rest of their lives," Sixx said the full house of about 15,000 fans.

Out on their Farewell Tour officially proclaimed, the Crüe seemed to be on a mission to give something memorable Saturday - if not from the same batch of songs that the band has been playing for the last decade plus, at least from constant barrage of pyrotechnics that were almost wild and strong enough to make the kind of flashbacks veterans suffer.

Actually calling it quits

the latest and apparently last out of the bad guys in the 1980s was pretty hair-boy band really just turned the usual amenities of a Crüe show up 11. More pyro. More F-bombs. More visual effects (including a platform shaped pentagram of enlightenment). More minutes where Lee hanging upside down on the crowd at his drum kit. Most times the crowd winced at distant voice of singer Vince Neil devastated.

Neil squawking aside - and it actually was not as bad as some other recent tours - the quartet put on a good outcome, thus suggesting that the band is calling it quits and really wanted to go out on a high note (although we could still get a second go-round on this tour next year).

The nostalgic veteran hair-band

there was a little extra heat for the second song, "Live Wire", beyond the towering flames shooting from the stage. There was a bit of swagger and the extra energy two songs later in "Looks That Kill", beyond the shapely female dancers rotating backlit boxes above Lee's drum kit. When they reached the end of "Home Sweet Home" for almost two hours, there was a high air to the nostalgic ballad, beyond the fact that they brought in a second stage rose 50 feet above the crowd.

There was even an extra trace of sentimentality in Lee's voice during his long battery only when - after his kit turned upside down on a roller coaster track similar to the crowd at the opposite end of the arena - mentioned his St. Paul Dad Criado, David Bass.

"He gave a lot of his life to let me do my drum," Lee said.

Before long aero-head Lee and another segment solo by guitarist Mick Mars - visibly suffers from an arthritic condition, but seemed a little quicker than he has in recent times - the Crüe really began to work musically, tearing the way- oldie "Too Young to Fall in Love" before one-two pre-encore of "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "kickstart My Heart".

"We are not so young," he joked after Neil "Too Young to Fall in Love". That was the only income if not the only indicator of the band members are not live wires they used to be, but showed enough spark to call a fine farewell.

Ceremony Saturday opening, Alice Cooper, one of the inspirations of CRUE, provided strong evidence can still put on a great show hard rock well in his 60s (his nearly four decades of sobriety, certainly, gave an advantage over the Crüe).

The king of shock-rock raised in Detroit, was able to squeeze his usual theatrics in his abbreviated set, including his guillotine decapitation and serenade straitjacket. More impressively, he brought the crowd nearly full-full and early to get to his feet while singing with enthusiasm and pranced around coldly through "I'm eighteen", "Billion Dollar Babies" and the final "out of school. “There is still much to learn from ol 'Alice.

Motley Crue’s Final Tour Is A Must-See: Here Are Six(x) Reasons Why

More bad guys in Los Angeles are taking a victory lap at full speed on his final journey.

About 15,000 people packed PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on August 30 to see Motley Crue before the band leaves the road.

Motley Crue Reveals 'Dirt' Movie Details, Previews Final Tour & New Music

After 100 million albums, 33 years, five biographies and countless acts of corruption, the famous rock group announced in January that he would resign, while the quitting was good, and even signed a "cessation of tour "agreement that prevents you gather as Motley Crue after the end of 2015 the band was determined to do things their way - and it took no resistance as a personal rebuke - is ending its road history on their own terms.

The final offers six (x) reasons why you should watch the blaze of glory.

1. pyro Enough to beat the Terminator. Early in his career Motley was slagged as having nothing in their favor but cheap shock tactics as establishing pants bassist Nikki Sixx on fire with lighter fluid. That was a weak indication of what was to come: The band knew the early game great visuals that were crucial to his overall package. Motley Armageddon is signing with a screen size of the flames and sparks cannon that can make you think that the independence of the United States had just been declared. Once cuy pyro Sixx now uses his instrument as a flamethrower to casually spraying a pillar of fire through the middle of the stage.

2. The song list is gold. If you like vintage Motley, its apex hair-metal or post-millennium resurgence Crue will satisfy every fan of music and the enthusiasm with which it was delivered. Early 80's classic "Looks That Kill" and "Too young to fall in love" offered by "Dr. Feelgood", "Kickstart My Heart" and post-2000s "Saints of Los Angeles" and the band played nearly 20 tirelessly songs "Mutherf ---- the Year." - Motley came into this world kicking and screaming, and is proud to exit the same way. Drummer Tommy Lee hit his modest (by his standards) kit as if he was trying to punish him, and despite being hampered by a degenerative form of arthritis, guitarist Mick Mars still has full control of his deft fingers.

3. adults can unleash the rebel yell. When Motley played his hit quintessential "Shout at the Devil" (a show highlight heart pumping), thousands of mid-lifers were transported back to 1983 The reason why parents burdened by mortgages and car payments met to pump their attacks and shouting the chorus of defiant song is because, perhaps even more than when they were teenagers, center fans of Motley need an outlet - and a reminder that no matter how old they have, they can remain forever in the heart rebels.

4. This band would not survive. The explosive ending that was "Kickstart My Heart" could be an illustration of combustion drama (largely self-perpetuated) Motley has been from day one. Lethal overdoses, jail sentences, divorces, lawsuits ... the stories of numerous controversies have filled several biographies. Lee and singer Vince Neil both came out at various points, and their presence adds weight to the final race of the band. Most of the acts fail to end the day with all its original members represented; at least these guys can do well enough long for one more trip around the world.

5. But even Motley is not immune to hourglass. Believe it or not, the self-proclaimed thugs want their dignified end arc instead of a slow disintegration. Motley, which means the use of two light clad dancers spinning on stage; Mars have knit a face melting guitar solo; ripping the roof with "anarchy" evergreen strip-club "Girls, Girls, Girls" favorite "Smokin 'The Sex Pistols in the Boys Room", "and" Live Wire "and ending the night with its traditional end of" Home Sweet Home. "has never been warm and fuzzy, but seeing images of vintage band float through the giant video screens highlight how Sixx, Neil, Lee and Mars occurred in the 30-plus years of Motley.

6. Meanwhile, Alice Cooper remains forever. The Godfather of Shock Rock joined the Final Tour as special guest. At 66, Cooper said he has no plans to retire, and his stage show confirms that he should not. By custom, the Hall of Fame Rock and Roll full three guitarists, Halloween style decorations, a boa constrictor, a beheading realistic look and macabre fashion choices as a whole, as he gestured and postured their music dramatically. Backed by a very narrow band, Cooper received the party started with "Be My Frankenstein," "I'm Eighteen", "Poison" and "Welcome to My Nightmare." As he concluded his time slot with a performance of "Out of school," Cooper surprise ending was unexpected in its simplicity: instead of taking other reptile or bloody prop, the stage was bathed in a cloud of bubbles.

Metal Rockers Motley Crue Find Welcome Embrace In Nashville For Country Tribute Album

Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx have spent so much time hanging out with artists in the country for a tribute album to Motley Crue who knows how to write the classic country song.

First, the subject of a ballad country is not so far from the life of a rock 'n' roll, the blond singer said as he sat in a Nashville, Tennessee, with guitarist Sixx hotel.

"You're young and you're going to drink, get high and write songs," Neil said. "Bad things happen: you lose your wife, your house, your car."

"And you write a song about it," Sixx intervened.

Instead of a clash of cultures in the album of 15 songs, "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue", released on Tuesday, crooners Nashville countries celebrated the band of metal coated leather-hair teased whose rock anthems helped 80 define.

Backed by Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta, who brought the album to his long list of artists including Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line and Brantley Gilbert, multi-genre approach fits perfectly with the younger fans of country music, whose tastes fall around the radio dial.

Motley Crue, among his final tour in the United States and Canada, had no input in how artists or songs performed. The most outstanding performances sound very little like the original heavy electric guitar, as when LeAnn Rimes sings "Smokin 'in the Boys Room" with a horn section or when the Mavericks bring their country of Cuba defeated "Dr. Feelgood”.

Big & Rich, Darius Rucker, Gretchen Wilson and Justin Moore also appear on the album. For some of the artists were the lyrics and emotions that attracted them to the project.

"More than anything this song is the country, but southern rock," Moore said of his version of "Home Sweet Home", the first single from the album. "It's something you do not hear very often, so I'm very proud of it."

For Neil, whose father was from Texas, this is not country music rebelled against as a teenager who loved rock 'n' roll.

"I saw the Florida Georgia Line, and one of the guys has a mohawk and tattoos," Neil said. "I mean, you cannot get any more rock 'n' roll than that."

JOHN CORABI Says He May Perform MÖTLEY CRÜE's Entire 1994 Album On 20th-Anniversary Tour

Corabi Crue originally joined in 1992 as replacement for the original lead singer, Vince Neil, who was fired by personal differences. With Corabi on vocals, Mötley Crüe released an acclaimed full length CD, which ended up being a commercial failure in the wake of grunge despite a Top-Ten placing on the album chart. When Neil returned to the fold in 1997, Corabi was left on his own and formed the band with guitarist UNION ex-KISS Bruce Kulick.

Speaking to Jacky Bam Bam radio station 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia, Corabi said about his plans for the immediate future (hear audio below): "I have a lot of material for an electric log But before doing electrical recording, . my manager was talking to me and wants to come out ... I did not even know - I'm a little confused -., but my manager was like, 'It's the 20th anniversary of Mötley record I think you should go out and do the registration Motley, as much of the material from Mötley record as you can. Know, just kind of go out and make a 20th anniversary 'John Corabi performing the Motley record,' MC 94 'from top to bottom, and only leave and do your thing. "So I can go do that this summer ... that [would be playing with] a full electric band. That would be doing ...

At this point; it would be all the songs. I do not know if I can do ... There's a song on the record that I do not know if I can do it, but there are other things we recorded was never released. There is a song called "Hypnotized" and '10, 000 Miles, "and" Living In The Know "and" Kiss the Sky 'and' Let Us Pray '... So there are plenty of other songs that I can replace that a song. But we're talking about me just hanging out with my full band, electrically, and doing a lot of material from '94 record to Mötley I did. "

Corabi also discussed the possibility of collaborating again with Mick Mars next solo album guitarist CRUE Mötley.”I do not know what to do musically, but at the end of the day, I love Mick Mars - which is one of human beings sweetest you'll ever meet in your life - and anything I can do to help with his solo album I'd be more than happy to do, "Corabi said.”I appreciate the fact that Mick was just stupidly support of what we did in the past, and I appreciate the talents of Mick as a guitarist and I think that is totally underrated and anything I can do to help, he is more than willing a. helping me with what I do. So we'll have to see where it goes from there. "

In an interview in 2012, Mars said about 1994 self-titled album Mötley Crüe.”Probably thought I was ... For me, and I can only speak for myself, I think it was probably the best album we've done music is concerned, songs, I felt, were strong and only musically, for me, it was, I guess, my Beatles 'White Album', .. That’s kind of how I feel about it I'm not saying that any of my other albums are bad death or anything like that - I love every record we did - but only one has a special thing for me. "

Last Corabi acoustic version of "Unplugged",
saw him serving a passionate and poignant dose of new and classic songs. Rat Pak Records Available, with five new original songs seven re-recorded, and also has an exclusive 2012 interview behind the scenes with John classic songs. The album features John Corabi on vocals / guitar, Cheney Brannon (before COLLECTIVE SOUL) on percussion / vocals, Topher Nolen on bass / vocals, DA Karkos on guitar / vocals, Matt Farley on drums / vocals and Bruce Kulick (KISS, Grand Funk Railroad) on guitar (on "vacations Hoolgan" and "Man In The Moon").

Stryper’s Michael Sweet Doubts Motley Crue’s Controversial Past

When it comes to the controversy last Motley Crue , Stryper , Michael Sweet believed that at least a portion of the well documented hedonistic group may have been an exaggeration.

In his new autobiography ' Honestly : My Life And Stryper Revealed
" , the lead singer of Christian metal band mentions that if readers are looking for stories about prostitutes and drug abuse to be " probably read the book of Motley Crue instead. "

Speaking with Music Enthusiast Magazine, Sweet says he wanted to be honest and open with the readers of his book. While he does not come out and call them liars plane is not necessarily sure that the version of events that Motley Crue hit his autobiography published in 'The Dirt' is entirely accurate.

" Is it as controversial as Motley Crue No, but I think half of what we hear about Motley Crue is BS anyway , like when you hear stories about Nikki Sixx die three times and stuff. 'S Like, 'how stretched is that? ‘“Sweet asks rhetorically.”

I do not know, man [laughs] I have nothing against Nikki Sixx. Half of the things I've read these autobiographies I just kind of roll my eyes , because I think many of these guys just do so many drugs and drank too much alcohol that their minds are not clear as to reminisce as put .

Hopefully that does not come across as me to be an idiot, but ... it's probably not going to find in my book you can found in a book of Motley Crue, and that's a good thing! [Laughs] "

From Nikki Sixx does not seem to be at a loss for words the likes of Godsmack and Sebastian Bach these days, will not be terribly surprised if he has something to say in response to Sweet.

MÖTLEY CRÜE Taps Producer JAMES MICHAEL For 'Final Song'

Mötley Crüe hosted a press conference on January 28 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, where it was announced that the band will release their "Final Tour" later this year, with the planning group to play 72 shows in North America in 2014 and abroad in 2015.

So it's official, the four members of the band had his lawyer draw up a “cessation of the tour " formal agreement to enter into force in late 2015 and prohibits members of the group to go on the road again under Mötley Crüe flag.

No mention of whether the CRUE record a new album to go along with the tour was done, although the group alluded to the possibility.

Speaking to Artisan News to yesterday (Thursday, 23 April) event Revolver Golden Gods at Club Nokia in Los Angeles , producer James Michael - singing for Sixx of Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx : AM project - revealed that he has been chosen to lead what may well prove to be the last song of the CRUE .

“As we know, the CRUE is preparing to hang. Talked for a while and doing a final song, “James said (see video below).”And that's a difficult task. Was a lot of pressure on us to you to make sure that we did well and we celebrate all that are known?

So I think we have done. I'm really drums up with Tommy [Lee] morning. Y is an outstanding song. Believe it will be an absolutely incredible way to go out swinging. "

During an appearance on the March 3 edition of Eddie Trunk’s show “Log Nation”
on SiriusXM Hair Nation, Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars revealed: “I just wrote a new song with Nikki, and we will be finishing for above, as in the next couple of months. Will be a new single [released in time for the next tour]. "

Sixx in January said it is unlikely that the band will release a new full-length album of new material and instead make select tracks available through special projects in order to maximize their impact.

“My take on it right now and the way things work is returned back to the 60's where people buy singles," said Mars Trunk. "I do not want a disc full of fillers. Which is why I said I was going to release [alone] EP or singles. "

Sixx told the Rapid City, South Dakota radio station 95.1 KSKY: "We have written music, [but] not yet we made .” He added: "It is difficult , to be honest with you , to spend six [or ] nine months to write eleven songs - all those letters ... all ... the voices , guitars , bass, Sonics , mixing, mastering, artwork ...

You put out and nothing [ happens ] because now people cherry -picking songs. So come on, ' Why do not we write songs and find vehicles for one, two or four songs to ten million people instead of eleven songs hundreds of thousands. This is how we're thinking. I do not know if it's good or bad, but that's what we're thinking. "

Mötley Crüe in 2012 released a new song called “Sex" to coincide with the launch of the North American co - headlining tour with the band KISS.

Written when the group was together during their residency in Las Vegas in February 2012, "Sex" was the first topic of study CRUE since its launch in June 2008 of "Saints of Los Angeles”. The song was recorded in studio Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee called The Atrium in Calabasas, California.

NIKKI SIXX Says SEBASTIAN BACH Should 'Let Go' Of 'Former SKID ROW Singer' Tag Already

Mötley Crüe and Sixx : A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx has once again taken Sebastian Bach shooting ,

Saying the singer must "let go" of the label " former SKID ROW singer " while making fun of the participation of Bach with the new competition series ABC's " Sing Your Face Off" chain.

During a segment in a recent edition of “Sixx Sense" radio show Nikki Sixx said (listen to audio below): "A new singing contest celebrity is coming to television, as if we had not had enough is called “Sing Your Fucking Face . Off ' . In fact, it is simply called "Sing Your Face off ‘. [Count] Famous Five, including former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach...

"When are you going to leave out the ' former SKID ROW ' [ tag] , I mean, at this point , my friend , you've been out of SKID ROW over SKID ROW was still alive . Like, let it go!

"OK. He'll have to go through various musical icons. Should be fascinating. Begins May 31 on ABC. Going to put my DVR to ' Snooze ‘.”

After Bach revealed in three words aa fan tweet on August 29, 2013 , he was asked to join Mötley Crüe , more than two decades ago, Sixx replied quickly Bach 's version of events never happened.

Sebastian then took to his Facebook page to describe in some detail the circumstances behind his being asked to join the CRUE , which included participation in the testing of a full day with the band and a lot of phone calls between multiple administrators , agents and label executives .

"I took the tests by Tommy Lee, and I spent a day celebrating the Motley Crue band set with Mötley Crüe , " Bach wrote . "I remember the songs that Nikki asked me to sing that day. Remember ecstatic reaction around the side of the road that we play together all day.

And I remember very generous offer of Nikki, the class, the end of our test, for me join the band Mötley Crüe . Remember his exact words to me in front of his road crew together, Tommy and Mick [Mars] too. 's not every day that your hero asks him to join his band. "

Bach did not reveal the details of what happened that day, promising its Facebook followers that “tell the full story of Nikki offering me to join Mötley Crüe in my next book, which will hit the shelves soon.”

He added: "I'm not just" inventing "... I 'm not a liar I'm working on my book right now and I hope you all read my book I plan to have more information on it that one of my tweets .. Ago”.

The September 13, 2013, Nikki tweeted what appeared to be a short answer to rant online Bach”. Someone needs attention to try to sell some books," then added: "I always liked the term" washed up. "

"As for leaving what we are doing, that would be like finding out what you are getting for Christmas before opening gifts,” said bassist Nikki Sixx. "We believe that in an age of information overload, we like to keep some surprises close to our chest until we release the Final Tour.”

Learn the secrets behind Mötley Crüe “Shout at the Devil"

One of the secrets that are letting out of the bag early, however, is opening artist Alice Cooper, who had kind words to say about Crüe. "Motley has always been on stage with an attitude and that is to blow the audience away," Cooper said.

"Let's go out and break and I cannot wait to see Mötley on stage. Mötley Crüe and Alice Cooper. A match made in... Armageddon? "

The final tour match two releases related Crüe - special. The first is the 2015 biopic The Dirt Mötley Crüe , which will be directed by Jeff Tremaine Bad grandfather . The film is based on the revealing biography of the group, in collaboration with the same name and will focus on his exploits.

"I refer to the story on many levels throughout my career has been about the kids misbehave, so I have a real connection with the material," Tremaine said. "It's amazing to be working with the band at an exciting time in the history of Mötley Crüe . "

The other version is related to Mötley a tribute to the country music of the glam metallers. A Country Music Tribute to Mötley Crüe out this summer and will include a cover which is not revealed by the Florida Georgia Line. French Version Of MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Home Sweet Home' Featured In SPRINT Commercial

An introductory ad for Sprint plan “Framily " which allows you to add members from outside the family to a family plan, small sample girl named Heidi singing a beautiful version of "Home Sweet Home" by Mötley Crüe in French. Check it out below.

Besides promoting the plan, the campaign “positions Sprint as a cultural leader who recognizes the changing social dynamics of American families today," said a representative of the agency.

"The American family has changed our families today are more of our family, but also our friends, our neighbors - . Basically all the people we love, “Sprint CMO Jeff Hallock, said in a statement.” So we created a product to give the new American family flexibility and value they need a wireless plan, brought to life through the Frobinsons.

Our campaign recognizes that we all have families that are unique personalities interesting. 's a fun, lively look at a group to go through life as one big happy Framily “.

“The Frobinsons are a typical American family. They are a strange mix of people who deeply care for each other and we wanted to create a group of characters that are familiar and very unique at the same time," adds Mark Figliulo of Figliulo and Partners, which created the place.

“We know that people are happier when they are connected to people and things that are more interested that's why everything we do end up in the beginning. Merry Connecting. "

During an episode of 2012 “Sixx Sense”, the national radio program hosted by Mötley Crüe / Sixx: AM bassist Nikki Sixx, Nikki revealed the "secret origin" behind the song Crue "Home Sweet Home" .

Nikki said. "Our record label back in the day company , Elektra Records , which became [ CRUE 1983 album ] ' Shout At The Devil ' in and rejected the album they said they do not like , did not sound like [ 1981 ]" Too Fast For Love ' , change the logo , we changed our appearance. So I said, ' Okay. Then we'll go to another record company.

“So [Elektra] shut [after all], and sold four million copies. Elektra was about to go bankrupt at the time, and saved his ass. And then when we got our next record [' Theatre of Pain ' 1985] delivered with ' Home Sweet Home ' on it, they rejected that album they said. . “This is horrible, and you have to take that song off the record you are not a band ballad. So we did the same.

“We were always at war with the record company, but we never really believed in us.

“And so we went with” Smokin 'In the Boys Room ' [as the first single from ' Theatre '], and we blew that album. And then we wanted to launch 'Home Sweet Home' [as the next single and video], and [the label] said, 'No way. No way. “So they financed, filmed the video ourselves, went on MTV and the rest is history.

“But that song [‘Home Sweet Home’] was never a hit single. Never worked in radio, I never promoted the song, and if not for back when MTV used to play videos, that song wouldn’t be the song it is today. species But that song as our ' Dream on' [ AEROSMITH ] or our ' Stairway To Heaven' [ LED ZEPPELIN ] , right? ! ... ‘Dream on' was not a hit single [either] .

"It's interesting how a song resonates with the public, but certainly not always resonates with business people. Things like Aerosmith are come, and go, “Oh, this is their first album. You do not want to have a ballad on it ‘. But that was the song - that was the jewel of that first album AEROSMITH 'Home Sweet Home' is such a gem in our career , like ' Stairway To Heaven' is [ LED ZEPPELIN ]

And a lot of bands that have . . kind of song that really connects with people , not what they usually do , which is , perhaps, in our case , we are a rock band and that something was a little left of center . "

"Home Sweet Home" reached number 89 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The song ranked No. 12 in the letter of the greatest ballads of all time VH1.

"I remember like it was yesterday," said the singer of Motley Crue Vince Neil about writing the song, “sitting in the recording studio when Tommy [Lee, drummer for Motley] came up with the piano chords and I almost immediately began to hum.”

"American Idol" star Carrie Underwood performed her version of "Home Sweet Home" for the 2009 season of the popular television talent.

Motley Crue’s ‘Home Sweet Home’ Featured In New Sprint Ad.

Motley Crue is a very famous and popular American band. It was started in 1981. All members of this band are very experienced and talented. In the new ad campaign for Sprint ' Framily Portrait’, Motley Crue track 'Home Sweet Home' is used as a backdrop for the warm & fuzzy in the middle of the sales pitch feelings. A girl named Heidi plays the recognizable riff on the piano, while the cartoon birdies circle (no, this is not a hallucination!) And as the words come later, is in French.
Mom, dad, Chuck , Grandpa, Aunt Tia , Gor - don , & Zack make the circle of the "Friends & Family" that make up the ' Framily ' in the portrait here . “Friends of the part of the family, all framily " goes the tag line. The basis here is various lots of characters symbolize the broad net cast by any provided “family ' they are all that remain in get in touch with through Sprint. Somehow, the" dad” is a hamster, & again, we're not hallucinating. Subtle Global artiness of its operation and the melody seems Crue at home.

'Home Sweet Home' was at first released on the 3rd album of the band, " Theater Of Pain ‘, in 1985. And it was written by drummer Tommy Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx and singer Vince Neil . Though never a hit of charts, the song has gone on to become one of the most beloved and most recognizable songs of Motley Crue . It was covered in 2009 by country star Carrie Underwood, who took his version to # 21 on the Billboard charts.

Girls Girls Girls Keep Motley Crue's Tunes Fresh

Motley Crue tribute band Girls Girls Girls bring their music tonight Jergel in Warrendale .Share with others:0inShareBy Dan Majors / The Pittsburgh PressAs the iconic glam band Motley Crue 80 said in his song " Kickstart My Heart" , "When we started this band all we needed , needed was a laugh . "Years passed , and the Crue is still ongoing . The boys will be back in Burgettstown as part of his farewell tour August 13.But tonight, we have girls. And it's still fun.
Girls Girls Girls
The tribute band Motley Crue -female New York - back to Pittsburgh tonight for a show at the Rhythm Jergel Grille in Warrendale, playing all the hard-hitting , heavy metal hedonistic Crue became famous.
You may want to adjust the beer goggles the first time you see them on stage. Vixen vocalist Neil ferocious screaming vocals, shredding guitar Mercedes Mars , Lucky strike Sixx on bass, and Lee Tawny Tearing up the drums - the sound is dead on . And with her long hair , black leather boots , ripped shirts and chains, the look is ... disturbing hypnotic. The band was founded in 2007 by the original bassist Patricia

" Nikita Sixx " Nilsen , who is still involved in the management of the group." Drummer , Tawny and Patty met at a camp rock ladies ," Mercedes said. " Neither of us had ever played the instrument in his life. Tawny was a pianist, but had never touched a thigh. Nikita had never touched a bass. But Patty had this dream of forming an all- girl Motley Crue ."Mercedes, a native of New York, had been in a punk band called stimulants and was doing some recordings with other artists." But nothing was getting any traction ," he said . "

I saw an ad that Girls Girls Girls had taken , and they were all done up like Motley Crue with chains and nails and big hair , and I was like , 'Oh, these girls look great ! Have to give them a call . ' and that's how I got into the band. Vixen Then he found the singer through MySpace. She's from the Midwest and had been in a ska band and had experience singing .

" We started playing in 2007 , and the band took off like a rocket from our first show. When we started doing this, there really was not a lot of tribute bands , and certainly very few tribute bands women. So we were a little more of a novelty then. but there was a great response to what we were doing , it has much to do with music , but the characters that are in this band too. really was just great, fun rock . , I'm sure that happens a lot in clubs anyway, but for some reason I really did capture the attention of people . started getting a lot of show offers ".

But in 2009 , Ms. Nilsen had her second child and the band took a break , leaving its members to explore other companies.A demonstration of the 2012 meeting , however , proved to be too much fun to put the project on the shelf , and Lucky was brought Sixx on bass." Is punk rock metal", Mercedes said. " But we do it our way. We remain true to the song, in spirit and feeling and heart , but occasionally we will put our own spin on it . And I think that's what makes it interesting because it's not just memory . must have an original love thing going on when you are. 's fun and everyone gets to have a great time . they dress . you know, it's a party .

"We have managed to make a name for ourselves and people definitely come to the concerts. Really not going for the big tours. We travel weekends , maybe three or five days. Probably we could be on the way, but not is our intention. Such bands that go on the road , they are selling something, you are promoting an album. 're not selling it. we are a tribute band . we are selling a live show . So we have to be out there spinning for months at a time trying to move the t-shirts and records. "

The girl thing may have started as a gimmick, but his serious approach to the music - and the show - sets them apart from other tribute bands ." When people come to see musicians , there are a barometer ," Mercedes said. "They're like , 'Hey , that person can really play. " And if you're doing well , they respect that , because they know the music and if you do it the right way , the way they want to hear it, which is very appreciated. It is much harder to start some original product. It is difficult to get out there.

"That could be one reason so many people are making tribute bands , because they think it is a door entry easier . And the fans love it. 're Bowing , crazy. We have never been accepted me by fans diehard Crue found in every city we play in. These people who have followed them since the early 80s are like , ' God , this is fantastic ! ' Cause we're not afraid to do it our way . though it is within the structure of the band , we're not trying to be them. authenticity that project carries a long way. we're doing it because we love it and it's good music. "And while they are playing the music of another group, there is still something in it for them ."This is a great outlet for our creativity ," he said . " There are a lot of texture. This still needs work. Though we know it, to make it big as possible , you're always working on it. We do not just hit 20 songs, ' Here , we have finished. " We do not do that. Really treat them with respect . "

OK , so the fans love . But what about the artists ?" I do not know what to think of their original bands tribute bands . Maybe like maybe resent ," Mercedes said. "I dunno , I've never talked to one of those artists . But I think tribute bands keep the music out there and keep people interested in it. "

You can experience this night of Jergel , 103 Slade Lane (or 285 Northgate Drive in your GPS) in Warrendale . Doors open at 6 and the show starts at 8. Tickets are $ 22.
